Covey Point Farm
located in Dorchester County, on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Covey Point Farms, located in Dorchester County, Maryland, is host to a 7,000 square foot Manor House, Hunter's Lodge, Barn, Pool House, Caretaker's Cottage and Dog Kennel. All of the buildings on the property feature top quality craftmanship, reclaimed hand hewn timbered beams, hand hammered iron door hinges, heart pine flooring, and more, all under a hand crimped, standing seam tin roof.

The design elements date back to an 1840s farm house, with the effect of wings added to the main house over the years, as well as kitchens and baths conceivably added in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This style incorporates French doors on all exterior doors, bringing light and spectacular water views into the home.

Exposed timbered trusses in the kitchen and master bedroom wings have been taken from buildings in the Pennsylvania Valley north of Harrisburg dating back to the 1780's. Craftsmen in both Pennsylvania and Virginia have achieved hand tooling on the interior doors and woodwork, using reclaimed wood taken from 18th and 19th century buildings. The flooring is re-claimed heart pine milled to the early Delmarva standard of flooring boards, tongue & grooved in 6", 7", & 8" widths.
On the left is the penthouse as it appears in artist Nancy Jo Shuttler's rendition of the Manor house at Covey Point Farm. On the right is the mostly constructed penthouse.
The exterior boasts a red, hand-crimped, standing seam tin roof, with cedar shingle siding dipped in Cabot's full-bodied white stain. The exterior trim and cornice are also cedar, back-primed with the same stain, giving the look of old white lead paint. All the porch details and railings are specially designed and milled to this era.

The main doors are re-claimed wood and hand tooled with square pegged full-mortised 6-panels, the cross at the top 4-panels and the bible at the bottom 2-panels.  All hardware is handmade, blackened wrought iron: the hinges are surface mounted "H" hinges; the locks are surface mounted "Rim locks." Windows, doors, cabinets and lighting fixtures, were custom built to Brad's specifications.
